I was not happy and was not even considering settling down. Beba was content to just be there for me whenever I happened back her way and I was happy travelling the world. When we were together she would push me to pray to the Virgin Mary to help me and watch over me. I tried to explain that the virgin was dead and hopefully living somewhere special with God. I tried to explain that only God could help us as he helped her. But she was religiously faithful to praying to the virgin. She would not leave the house without standing in front of the Virgin Mary's picture and saying a prayer. I do not ever remember her praying to God to help with anything. Whenever I saw her doing this it made my stomach do flips almost to the point of nausea.
The project in Mexico lasted until the beginning of 1995. I was able to negotiate a contract with one supplier to put together individual kits that included all of the components we needed for this project. I made upgrades to the way the controls were to be laid out. These upgrades were later recognized by management and implemented in our state side production facility. Throughout the installation of the project I learned to speak Spanish, which made my job much easier.
In May 1995 I was asked to go to Belgium for planning an additional installation of four capsule production machines in China. In the past the controls in China had been using designs from the plants in Europe. I planned ahead and got quotes, drawings and copies of the latest version of the control system we were using in Greenwood. At the meeting I proposed that we utilize the Greenwood version for the controls. The Belgium project manger had already arranged a presentation from their engineers. It was decided due to costs being equal and that the Greenwood personnel would be building the machines to follow my plan.
In November 1995 I was asked to go to Belgium for training on a system designed and used at our affiliate there for preparing the gelatin viscosity. I learned the system well enough that I was asked to install two of them in our facility in Mexico. I supervised the installation of the mechanical and control systems. It utilized Siemens PLC and Fix based PC control. I converted the operator alarms on the operator interface to Spanish. I trained the technicians, operators, and process engineers on the operation
