The divorce was final December 1998 and I went to Indonesia a few weeks later. I brought Teti back to the US with me where we got married. My ex wife packed her bags and took David back to Mexico a month later. I was still not able to visit David especially after she took him to Mexico. Teti and I took out as much credit as I could get to set up a mobile home on some land out in Waterloo. We bought everything we needed. I was hoping to get another job or enough overtime to pay for it but that later proved impossible. After one year of struggling to pay everything I finally had to file bankruptcy. During this time Teti and I made a trip or two back to Indonesia while I completed a few more projects for Capsugel there. After one year Teti got pregnant. She had already been in the country for six months without leaving on a tourist visa so I made plans to file for her residency. She wanted to make one more trip back to Indonesia before I did since she would not be able to after I made the application. She was six months pregnant and very big. She went and visited family for a few weeks and then came back to the US. When she went to the plane in Indonesia they made her have a medical exam before boarding the plane. They though she was further along with the baby and might go into labor on the plane. They finally admitted her to go with the doctor's approval. Three months later we had a healthy young girl whom we named Tiara. I filed the papers shortly after that for Teti to stay in the US with immigration. It took me two months to get everything together. I read and read the instructions many times. It is written in very small print and in lawyer language. I tried to call immigration for advice but always got a recorded message. Finally I sent the papers to Texas after about six months of looking the papers over and saving up enough money to pay for the application. Since it said if you do not have a local office you should send the papers there. I waited and waited but it takes months to get a reply from immigration. I found out that in November I would have to make a trip to Indonesia. A month later the papers came back from Texas immigration office with a note saying I sent them to the wrong office. It said I needed to send them to my local office. By this time Teti had exceeded one-year stay on a tourist visa. I tried to call immigration numerous times to see what they meant by my local office. Greenwood and the surrounding towns have no immigration offices. I decided that since I was going back to Indonesia for work it would be best if we waited until after that. Teti wanted to go back and show off our new baby to the family. In October she went ahead of me and I followed one month later. I worked until the end of December then took some vacation in Bandung. We went to the beach and had two weeks of fun.
