I began to research Islam more. I could not completely
trust the Bible because my heart always came back with contradictions
within it. People used to ask me what my religion was, and I would
answer that I had no religion. This is because I saw the word religion
as meaning someone's interpretation of a particular Holy book. The
answer usually raised an eyebrow because they thought this meant
I did not believe in God.
In September 1997 I went to Egypt for a two-day sightseeing stopover
on the way to China for work. I bought a copy of the Holy Quran.
I started reading it and was surprised that it was the exact same
religion that I had in my heart. It answered a few of the remaining
questions I had but most of it I already knew from inspiration during
my prayers. I was so happy that I knew from the time I finished
reading the Quran that I would not die and go to Hell to burn forever.
All of my doubts were answered by it and the fact that I already
knew most of it from my prayers and my study of the Holy Bible confirmed
to me that the Quran had to be from God. Anyone whom would question
the purpose of a man born in an environment like Arabia was 1400
years ago that dedicated his life to teach people not to worship
idols and false Gods or surely misguided. He risked his life and
those that chose to follow him to worship one God. He was blessed
by receiving a special message from God to teach the people to worship
one God alone. He received no monetary payment for his teaching
and even had to leave his home to worship this one God, the same
God that Jesus worshiped. And I was glad that he had written about
how special that Jesus was.
Remember when the angles said:
0 Maryam (Mary)! Verily,
Allah (The God) gives you the glad tidings of a Word ["Be!"
- and he was! I.e. Isa (Jesus) the son of Maryam (Mary)] from him,
his name will be the Messiah, Isa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary),
held in honor in this world and in the Hereafter, and will be one
of those who are near to Allah. -- Surat-u Ali Imran (3): 45 The
Holy Quran
