John: 8: 7
If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and
ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
This is a book in the works. I have been writing notes for years of things that come to mind. You will find the book has many typos and some conflicting thought. These are actual thoughts as one goes through life. If a man can not change then he is dead.
Finding Truth In Religion, A perspective of Christian and Muslim life is a true
story about one man and one woman's journey through life's crooked
paths to make you laugh, cry, and think about your relationship
with God by erasing the myths of religion.
My name is Glenn Madden and I was born in Clinton, SC in the year
of 1961. I am an American citizen by birth. I grew up in the US and come from
a Christian family, attending as a child the Southern Baptist congregations. Later on in my adult life I began to visit other Christian faiths such as the Church Of God and Catholics to learn more about what God wants from me so that I may never perish and suffer the eternal fires of Hell.
My wife Teti Madden was born in Bandung, Indonesia
in 1963. She grew up in Bandung Indonesia as a Muslim. Her dad was professor of Islam and taught all over Indonesia at the Islamic universities. He taught from the Quran but also had a Bible for his personal use that Teti picked up at an early age and started learning about the teachings there in. Many of the Islamic groups here in Indonesia are open minded to other religions that truly worship the One God.
We will show you our paths in life and include many
of our own philosophical understandings of the universe we are in.
It delves deeply into the similarities of Christianity and Islam.
It details how that I learned all the teachings that Muslims are
taught directly from the Bible, not the Quran. The Quran only confirmed my existing beliefs as it was meant to. My wife is very
educated in Islam and will write her own life's story to compliment
my stories eventually showing how these two religions and many more are from the
same God. We will include our own experiences from extensive world travels
to show both our own imperfections and of those that sometimes proclaim
to be so perfect.
It was at the age of five that I started patterning
my life as best as I could through prayer and from the Bible to
that of Jesus. Like Jesus and his followers I prayed to God.
The life of Jesus has gave meaning to much of what I used to think of as a weakness. Society today teaches us that we must fight for what is ours. That we must retaliate with equal evil to those that do us wrong. I was born with what others might would call a weakness. It did not show itself until I started to school. I remember my mom having a meeting with the first grade teacher because other children were picking on me and I would cry. The teacher told my mom that I needed to fight back and to be aggressive. She told my mom she would stop me from crying and teach me to be strong. I am glad that she failed now, even though I would not have said that the day I walked out of high school. I finally quit school in the tenth grade, that was on the day a coach at the school threatened to beat me to death because I was a "wimp". I now know that what comes naturally for me is not so easy for others in this life. It is not that I am afraid or too weak to fight back. It is that I hurt more from the hurt I might inflict upon others.
Mathew 5: 43 - 44
43. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor,
and hate thine enemy. 44. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless
them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for
them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
I do not intend for this book to attack any religious
faith, but the contrary. This book is written to show mine and my wife's beliefs.
We believe that most religions that worship The One God, ALL
COME FROM THE SAME SOURCE, God. The Jews, Christians, Muslims, and
Buddhists and many more are all right and at the same time they are all wrong, none of them are perfect. If their followers believe that they are perfect then they have already proven themselves wrong. Perfection is only with God. Religion is mans belief in God and how to worship God. If man believes his religion is perfect then he has crossed the line of pride and is not in perfection. I believe that we should keep an open mind to all people of the Earth and pray to God for understanding.
Mathew 7: 1 - 5
1. Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2. For with what judgment ye judge,
ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured
to you again. 3. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's
eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4. Or
how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of
thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5. Thou hypocrite,
first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou
see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Now I am not prefect and neither will this book be. Please forgive me if I may go against my own beliefs at times. I have only one stead fast belief that never changes and that is, there is only One God, One Judge, One Master for all. I believe that God wants us to turn to him when we have a need. Do not ask the servants of God in prayer for the things you need. This means you believe they have more power than God. The one God is waiting and listening for earnest prayer from man-kind.
Do not say God has deserted us. God created all things. So many dedicated religious people sit in prayer and tell God what they have done and then ask the questions, where is my reward, why do I suffer. All things belong to God. So how can anyone ever say God owes us for our works? God is merciful and if you look to him he will be there. But never say he has to pay you for your works. These are things that God expects from good people naturally without payment.
So many people look other places for help in life besides God. Many pray to dead ancestors, the angels, saints and even things they have created with their own hands for help. If you look to the servants of God, or some statue, some magical item, or anywhere else besides the One True God then you will be lost. I learned from the examples in the Bible of how Jesus prayed to the One God and believe that my salvation and help through life is in following the path of Jesus and the other messengers that God has sent to teach man-kind throughout the ages.
