I do not remember where but at sometime or another I met my childhood sweetheart that I had a crush on when I was younger and living at home. I started seeing her regularly and this led to marriage. We moved to Greenwood and I got a job as stocker working at the same company I did in Laurens. After about six months I got a position as front manager then assistant manger.
Marriage
When I was young I never had any girlfriends. I think it was because I was too shy. I would never talk to any of the girls at school. The few that did try and talk with me were usually making fun of my clothes or something. When I was 16 years old I had a crush on a younger girl in our neighborhood that was 12 years old. She was unusual and was always talking something kind of dreamy like. I wrote her one letter and told her about the crush. I do not remember how but my brother got the letter and I do not know if she ever got it or not. We were both to young to do nothing more than talk. Later I moved away and did not see her again until I was 23 and she was 19. We started dating and it got very serious. After sometime she said she was pregnant with our child I thought. I suggested we get married. She talked with her dad and he got very mad. He and her decided that she would get an abortion. I did not agree with having the abortion but they said I should pay for it. I did not have much money so I sold my car that I loved so much to get the money. Two years later we got married. It was sometime after we were married that she had a truth day and told me that the baby we aborted was not mine but the young man that lived next to her. She said if she had told her dad that it was he, her dad would have killed him.

I worked my way up at Bilo to assistant manager. We were living in an old home that we had been remodeling. With the increased salary I bought a new mobile home and rented a lot new to Bilo. Work was boring and I was not happy. I wanted to change my career so we discussed the possibility of me going into the navy to get electronics training. It was not long after this she got pregnant with our child.
